My bx2230 is nearly brand new, with about 20 hours total. Yesterday, without the loader on, I noticed the female quick connect on the front right of the tractor was leaking. It was leaking at a fair pace, so I believe a bunch of oil has been lost. I do not know much about tractors, or engines in general but it seems to me that because it is leaking at the female connect end when not attached to the loader, it may be a minor repair.

My questions are thus:
1) Does anyone have a basic suggestion for something to tighten or examine to stop the leak?
2) Which of the many dipsticks and fluid refill plugs service this particular fluid so I can check the level and refill?

Thanks for your help in advance.

That leak will drain your transmission sump, so pull that dipstick to check.

You are right that it will be an easy fix. Sometimes the seals inside don't work right if the fitting has been over-tightened. And if it is too loose it can leak from the threads.

In any case if the fitting proves defective, it can be replaced in a few minutes for about 10 bucks. ....

Thanks for the fast reply. two follow up questions:
Is there a quick way to test if the fitting is defective?
Am I interpreting the manual correctly that the transmission dipstick is in the rear of the tractor?

Thanks. ....

I appear to have resolved the problem by simply pressing down the ball on the femal end several times. It must ave been jammed or something, but the leak has stopped.

Glad to hear the "repair" worked for you.

If there is any further problems, this would be a warranty issue that "should" not cost you anything.

Make sure to check the tranny dipstick (on the back of the tractor behind and below the seat) so that you haven't run low on fluid. if you are low, that sump comes filled with "Kubota Super-UDT" from the factory, and should be refilled only with the same. ....

My BX2230 leaked at the same connection, the dealer came out and fixed it for nothing under warranty and also found that I was not getting full pressure in my hydrolic system so he changed it to get it back to factory specs. Keep an eye on the leak to make sure it does not start again. ....
